Homestead exemptions can be filed year-round, but must be filed by April 1st in order to be applicable for the current tax year. It is the departments goal to make sure all approved applications are keyed timely so the exemption is reflected on each tax bill.

Under Title I (Employment) of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the ADA prohibits private employers, State and local governments, employment agencies and labor unions from discriminating against qualified individuals with disabilities in job application procedures, hiring, firing, advancement, compensation, job training, and other terms, conditions, and privileges of employment. The ADA covers employers with 15 or more employees, including State and local governments. A “reasonable accommodation” is any modification or adjustment to a job, the job application process, or the work environment that will enable a qualified applicant or employee with a disability to participate in the application process, perform the essential functions of the job, or enjoy the benefits and privileges of employment. Examples of “reasonable accommodations” include: making existing facilities readily accessible to and usable by employees with disabilities; restructuring a job; modifying work schedules; acquiring or modifying equipment; and reassigning a current employee to a vacant position for which the individual is qualified. [ADA.gov] Of the number of Fulton County employees requesting reasonable accommodations during this quarter, the percent of requested accommodations completed (from qualification to close-out) and within 126 calendar days, was 100%.

Early Literacy Program Satisfaction - Department KPI

Every new mother at Grady Hospital is given literacy materials and a board book as part of the Books for Babies program. Additionally, a librarian meets with new mothers to explain the importance of reading to newborns and young children.

Food service establishments are defined as establishments used in the preparation, manufacturing or processing, and service of meals, lunches, short orders, sandwiches, frozen desserts, or other edible products. Establishments are rated using an inspection report with 18 categories, each focused on a specific area food safety. Each inspection results in a numeric score and a corresponding grade of A, B, C or U. This measure tracks the annual percentage of inspections that result in a grade of A.

Based on the 2018 survey, 98.3 percent of patrons were at least "somewhat satisfied" with the library, including 56 percent who stated they were "very satisfied" and about 33 percent who stated they were "satisfied."
