The 1850 Federal Decennial Census was the first time in history that data was collected on agricultural production at a national scale. The census manuscripts for Pennsylvania were digitized by PHMC from the original documents in the collections of the National Archives and Records Administration. This dataset includes agricultural production data compiled from Schedule 4 - Productions of Agriculture of the 1850 census and aggregated at the county and municipality level. The visualization combines a timeless practice with the latest advancements in technology. The interactive map of Pennsylvania depicting the value of farms and amounts of livestock provides users with a glimpse into agricultural life in 1850.

Due to the voluntary nature of the application, the ODIN information provided may not represent the totality of all overdose and/or naloxone administration incidents involving criminal justice agencies occurring within the Commonwealth. Although this dataset does include some third-party administrations of naloxone, it should not be used to measure overdose response and naloxone administration incidents among all first responders.

Every effort is made to collect and record all opioid drug seizures and arrests however, the information provided may not represent the totality of all seizures and opioid arrests made by PSP personnel. Data is currently available from January 1, 2013 through most current data available. Seizure Opioids seized as a result of undercover buys, search warrants, traffic stops and other investigative encounters. An incident is a Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) recorded violation of the Controlled Substance Act and an entry into the PSP Statistical Narcotics System. By regulation, entry is made by the PSP as stated in PSP Administrative Regulation 9-6: When violations of The Controlled Substance, Drug, Device and Cosmetic Act are reported, the required statistical information concerning the incident shall be entered into the Statistical Narcotic Reporting System (SNRS). Incidents may include undercover buys, search warrants, traffic stops and other investigative encounters So, an “incident” is not based on any arrest, but on a reported violation, though it often can include arrests. The incidents that are selected and forwarded to the portal are those that include a record of one or more seizures of the opioid drugs. In turn, a subset of those selected incidents also contains a record of one or more arrests. This is PSP data only, it would not include any Federal case/incident data.

DOC overall total population directly drives the Department’s budget. The baseline for the goal is the total population on June 30, 2015. On June 30, 2015, the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections overall population was 50,366. This dataset contains the total number of state corrections population in the Department’s custody at the end of each month, including those in prison, in contracted county jails, in community phases of the State Intermediate Punishment (SIP) program, in Parole Violator Centers (PVCs), and on temporary transfer to other jurisdictions. DOC publishes a Monthly Population Report to the DOC Website (www.cor.pa.gov). The information published to the website includes the data set and breakdown of populations in each institution.

These key areas of joint DOC/PBPP operations which affect the prison population include: Interviews - Parole Board capacity for scheduling and conducting parole interviews Pending Release - Inmates approved for parole but still pending release from prison for various reasons Release - The number of inmates released onto parole supervision, either in a community corrections center (halfway house) or at home Parole Violator – Re-admission to PA DOC custody for a parole violation The primary objective of this dashboard is to provide a tool for monitoring/managing progress towards improvements in these areas which will enable more efficient management of the prison population. By achieving improvements in these areas, the ultimate outcomes will be cost reduction, public safety enhancement, and prison population reduction.
